Introduction
Alga Agung is recognized as a pioneer in iron ore mining in Indonesia, always thriving to be a major player in iron ore market, especially in the Asian Region. Alga Agung is continuing to improve its mining operation and expanding its concession base. Our goal is to be the most cost-effective, expansive, and reliable supplier of iron ore. We are always ready to accommodate credible buyers, investors, and partners.
Deposits
Our combined total iron ore resources are currently estimated around 400 million tons. We have both Fe 58-60% and 61-63% deposits spread throughout more than 10,000 ha of our concessions in Indonesia. Our principal mining activities are currently centered in Kalimantan and we are currently expanding to the Sampit and Lampung areas.
History
Our first iron ore mining project in Kalimantan began in 2003, when Alga Agung began to engage the services of professional geologists from Australia to explore the possibility of exploiting iron ore deposits.
Production
Current annual production capacity is 200,000 tons of iron ore lumps but we are rapidly increasing production to meet the increasing demand from the market. Our equipments are being upgraded and currently, the operations are handled by a team of professional mining consultants.
Future Plans
We are in the midst of increasing our concession portfolio in order to meet our clients’ demand. Also, we are currently evaluating the feasibility of starting an iron ore pellet and pig iron factory near our mining bases. Our plan is to be the largest integrated iron ore mining and processing company in Indonesia.
